Restaurante Mundial 82 is in La Caleta de Interián, a small village on the coast between Garachico and Los Silos, roughly twenty minutes west of the apartment. It serves seafood in large quantities at village prices, and almost nobody who is not from around here eats there.
Why go further than Garachico
Garachico is ten minutes closer and has more restaurants. It is also popular, and on a busy day it feels it.
La Caleta de Interián has none of that. It is a working coastal village that visitors drive through on the way to Los Silos and the Teno massif. Eating here is the version of this coast that existed before anyone came to look at it.
What to expect
Seafood, plainly handled, in portions our hosts describe as generous — which on this coast means more than you ordered. Staff who will steer you towards the good value rather than the expensive end of the list.
There is no view to pay for and no terrace premium. That is reflected in the bill.
Making a day of it
The drive continues west from here into the Teno massif, so this works well as lunch on a day out towards Teno Alto, or on the way back from the Sunday market at Los Silos.
As always, check it is open before committing to a twenty-minute drive.
The village itself
La Caleta de Interián is small enough that the restaurant is most of the reason to stop, but the coastline here is worth a few minutes. This is the exposed north-west shore — black rock, heavy swell, and none of the shelter that makes our bay swimmable.
It is a good place to understand why the sheltered spots on this coast are treated as the exceptions they are.
Where it fits in a week
Think of it as the lunch stop on a day heading west rather than a destination. The road continues to Los Silos, which has a Sunday market in the central square, and then climbs into the Teno massif for Teno Alto.
That combination — market, lunch, highland walk — is one of the better days available from the apartment, and it barely appears in any guidebook.
