El Taller Seve Díaz is the only Michelin-starred restaurant in Puerto de la Cruz, about twenty-five minutes east of the apartment. It is also, by some distance, the hardest table to get on this coast.
The star is real, and recent
Our Welcome Book says the restaurant has held a star “since 2026”, and that checks out: chef Seve Díaz was awarded his first Michelin star at the gala for the 2026 guide, held in Málaga in November 2025.
It remains the only starred restaurant in the town. Tenerife has a handful across the island, concentrated in the south, which makes one on this coast notable.
What eating there involves
Tasting menus rather than choosing dishes: a shorter one and a longer one, both contemporary and both built on seasonal Canary Islands produce — some of it from the restaurant’s own farm, with fish landed in local waters.
The dining room is small and split over two levels, a few steps from the Plaza del Charco in the old part of town. Seve Díaz is known for being in the room rather than behind a pass, which is a large part of the experience.
Booking
Our hosts say two months ahead, and the star will not have made that easier. If this matters to you, book it before you book anything else about the trip — the same advice we give for the Teide summit permit, and for the same reason.
If you cannot get in
Puerto de la Cruz is the one town on this coast with real choice. There is Thai, Indian and Lebanese within a short walk, all recommended by our hosts, and all considerably easier to get into on a Tuesday.
